Overview

Karbala Journal of Medicine (ISSN: 1990-5483 (Print) E ISSN: 2958-0889 (online))  is an open-access peer-reviewed double-blinded half-yearly published journal issued by the College of Medicine of the University of Kerbala. The Journal accepts research articles, reviewers, case reports, and letters to editors in all fields of medicine from all over the world. All articles and manuscripts must be in English. Papers are accepted, on the understanding that the content has not been published in whole or in part by other journals. The papers are subject to editorial revision, and the editor is responsible for the order of publication. Manuscripts are only accepted on the understanding that the author will permit editorial amendments, though proofs will always be submitted to the corresponding author before being sent finally to the press. The Journal is peer-reviewed and each article is sent to three evaluators of the same specialty in addition to a statistical and design review by an expert statistician.

Aim and Scope

Karbala Journal of Medicine is an open-access dedicated to publishing studies on various aspects of medicine. Coverage includes internal medicine, medical microbiology, pathology, pediatrics, surgery, medical nanotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, physiology, epidemiology, gynecology, and obstetrics. All are welcome to receive through this journal. The journal does not publish articles in any field other than the medical field.  

Peer Review Integrity

The peer review process for all research articles in this journal, including special issues, special sections, or supplements, was rigorous and involved initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two independent referees. Some submissions are initially rejected without external review based on editorial judgment. Submissions that are suggested for external review will be subjected to a single-blind peer-review process in the Karbala Journal of Medicine. Editors can select external reviewers using a database of experts, those suggested by the authors, or their own choices. Journal instructions must be followed or manuscripts will be rejected after only two attempts to prepare.

Ownership and Management

The Karbala Journal of Medicine is officially affiliated with the College of Medicine at the University of Kerbala. Charges from authors are used to fund this independent journal.
